The Beginning

Created in 2006, the Battle-Slalom rules became the most popular category in the slalom world. The first amateur contests changed to very famous and well organized competitions. The first  Battle-contest in Russia was held In Moscow, in February 2007, at the ISPO Exhibition. 

YEAR 2007

At the first Moscow Battle 2007, despite the overwhelming number of participants from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, the victory went to Igor Cheremetieff from France. The first place in the women's category was shared between Polina Semenova (Rus) and Nadezhda Zelenova (Rus).

YEAR 2008

In 2008, The Battle Moscow was already a great event. About 70 skaters from 7 countries took part in the competition.  After the tough fight, Nadezhda Zelenova (Rus) won the Battle final. Igor Cheremetieff from France repeated his victory from the previous year in an amazing final against Kim Sung Jin (Kor).

Battle Moscow 2008 by Leonid Mirenkov

YEAR 2009

1st WSSA European Battle Championship was held in Moscow, in 2009. The best european skaters were competing for the European Champion title in the Speed Slalom and Battle disciplines. Young and potential skater from Germany, Martin Sloboda took his first important victory in the Battle, his best result so far. Chloe Seyres from France won the women's Battle. Tiziano Ferrari (Ita) and Ekaterina Surmach (Rus) won the Speed Slalom Finals.

YEAR 2010

In 2010, the Battle Moscow, as usual, took place at the skatepark "Adrenaline".  Kim Sung Jin (Kor) and Polina Semenova (Rus) won the Battle competitions. In the Speed Slalom Russians Shitov Andrey and Lysenko Krystina took the gold medal in the men's and women's categories respectively, beating French riders Igor Cheremetieff and Chloe Seyres.

Battle Moscow 2010 Men's Final by Rekil

YEAR 2011

In 2011, the competitions are growing up along with the level of the participants. The number of competitors was totally honorable as there were almost a hundred people registered. That year,  the event was renamed Moscow Roller Cup : the disciplines multiplied… Battle and Speed as usual, but also Classic and Slides! The event was transformed into a multi-discipline tournament rewarding the most flexible skater. Each competitor was strongly encouraged to take part in the most disciplines as possible, and a lot of skaters played the game.

 

 

Korean skater Kim Sung Jin won all the disciplines except the slides and took the Roller Club Cup as the best athlete of the event. Maryna Boiko from Ukraine won the Women's Battle. She also got the Roller Club Cup as the strongest athlete thanks to her 4th place in Classic and her 1st place in Battle. Chiara Lualdi from Italy won the Speed Competition. Young Daria Kuznetsova (Rus) won her first big event in the Classic discipline, her best result so far. Russians Anton Moiseev and Natalia Krykova won the Slides contest.

Freestyle Battle by Doctor

YEAR 2012

Adrenalin skatepark opened its doors for all the skaters from all over the world, just like last years, for the first big competition of 2012. The event, entitled Rollerclub Cup, included all the disciplines of freestyle: speed slalom, battle and also classic and slides. The event was transformed into a multi-discipline tournament rewarding the most flexible skater.

 

 

Romain Lebois (Fra) won the Battle and Classic competition. Daria Kuznetsova (Rus) got the double victory as well for the same disciplines. Simone Nai Oleari (Ita) and Kristina Lysenko (Rus) won the Speed Slalom Final. Russians Ilya Sukhenko (Rus) and Natalia Krykova (Rus) got the victory of the Slides contest. The Rollerclub Cups Winners were Klaudia Hartmanis (Pol) & Romain Lebois (Fra).

Rollerclub Cup 2012 by Doctor

YEAR 2013

The biggest international contest of the World Slalom Series 2013 in Russia was held close to Moscow on October 25-27, thanks to Rollerclub and the Russian Federation of Roller Sports.

There were a lot of changes for this year's Rollerclub Cup :

First, instead of the usual March event, it took place in October, and not at the usual skating place, but a two-hour drive from Moscow. Rollerclub Cup, as usual, included all the disciplines of freestyle: speed slalom, battle and also classic and slides. The event was transformed into a multi-discipline tournament rewarding the best overall skater.

 

 

Romain Lebois (Fra) won the Battle Final. Daria Kuznetsova (Rus) repeated her double victory winning Battle and Classic. Simone Nai Oleari (Ita), as the last year, was the fastest at the Speed Slalom. Klaudia Hartmanis (Pol), first time for her career, won the Speed Slalom contest at the 3-cones event. Sergey Timchenko (Rus) got a great victory at the Classic, beating the strongest competitors. Aleksey Martsenyuk from Ukraine and Liudmila Li from Russia won the Slides contest. As the result of the Rollerclub Cup (overall result), the Cup went to Alexander Timchenko (Rus) and Klaudia Hartmanis (Pol).

This year, Rollerсlub and the Federation of Roller Sports present the largest international slalom contest in Russia 2014, which will be held on July, 25-27 at "RollHoll" skatepark, in Moscow. The best skaters from all around Europe will compete in 4 disciplines : Classic Freestyle, Battle Freestyle, Speed Slalom and Slides. See you in Moscow this weekend!
