EFSC 2016 : Speed, Battle, Classic and Pair Slalom.

The European Freestyle Skating Championship 2016 was held in Ciudad Real, Spain in the beginning of October. Here you can find the pictures and results of the Speed and Freestyle Slalom disciplines! 

In the Senior Men's Speed Slalom, the World Champion 2014, Savio Brivio (Ita) got his very first European Champion title! He showed the best qualification time (4,368 sec) and won the big final against the European Champion 2015, Raphael Giron (Fra). The European Champion 2013, Simone Nai Oleari (Ita) took the third place, leaving the fourth position for the current world number one, Alexandre Claris (Fra), who performed the second best qualification time (4,383 sec).

The current world number one and the World Champion 2015, Zoé Granjon (Fra) received the EFSC gold medal of the Senior Women's Speed Slalom for the first time in her skating career! She took the first place of the big final in front of Barbara Bossi (Ita), who showed the best qualification time (4,739 sec) and took the second position, repeating her last year's result. The triple European Champion (2015, 2013, 2012), Cristina  Rotunno (Ita) won the consolation final against Laurine Moreno from France.

In the Junior Men's Speed Slalom competition, the Austrian representative, Pedram Ranjbar Vakili took the first place, winning the big final in front of Enrico La Volpe (Ita). Alessandro Lissoni from Italy took the third position leaving Yoan Rayer from France on the fourth place.

Lily Granjon (Fra) showed the best qualification time (4,640 sec) which is apparently the new WSSA Free Start World Record (waiting for the official confirmation). She won the final race of the Junior Women's Speed Slalom competition, leaving Darya Kogoyakova (Rus) on the second position. Alix Bouquet (Fra) took the third place of the consolation final in front of Arianna Crippa from Italy.

The world number one, Sergey Timchenko (Rus) won both Freestyle disciplines, Battle and Classic, for the third year in a row! Sergey was the strongest in the Senior Men's Battle final. His brother and the current freestyle world number two, Alexandr Timchenko (Rus) received the silver medal, improving his result from the last year, when he was third. The Vice-Champion of the last year, Lorenzo Guslandi (Ita) took the third place this time, leaving Andrey Shitov (Rus) at the one step from the podium.

The world number one, Daria Kuznetsova (Rus) won the European Championships in both, Classic and Battle disciplines, for the fifth year in a row, which is the absolute record! She took the first place of the Senior Women's Battle final, leaving the second place for her teammate, Ksenia Dubinchik (Rus). This is the best European Championships result for Ksenia ever! Zoé Granjon (Fra) repeated her result from the last year, winning the bronze medal of the EFSC. Paulina Czapla (Pol) finished fourth.

Alessandro Lissoni (Ita) was the strongest in the Junior Men's Battle final, leaving the second place for Lorenzo Degli Agostini (Ita). Gleb Velikanov (Rus) took the third place, and Roberto Ferrari (Ita) finished on the fourth position.

The Junior Women's Battle final gathered only Russian skaters. Sofia Bogdanova (Rus) won the Junior Women's Battle for the second time in a row. Elena Mokeeva (Rus) took the second place, repeating her result from the last year. Anna Smirnova (Rus) was third, leaving the fourth place for Olga Bamatter-Rodriguez (Rus).

As was mentioned before, the gold medal of the EFSC 2016 for the Senior Men's Classic discipline went to Sergey Timchenko (Rus). The double European Champion (2013-2012), Romain Lebois (Fra) took the second place. Alexander Timchenko (Rus) got the bronze this time.

Daria Kuznetsova (Rus) is the Classic European Champion for the fifth year in a row. Ksenia Dubinchik (Rus) added another silver medal to her collection, taking the second place of the Senior Women's Classic competiiton. The Classic Vice-European Champion 2015, Zoé Granjon (Fra) took the third position.

In the Pair Slalom, Italians Valerio Degli Agostini and Lorenzo Guslandi got the gold medal of the EFSC 2016. Roberto Ferrari and Alessandro Lissoni (Ita) are on the second position. Aroa Pleguezuelos Lopez and Paula Trigo Rivero (Esp) took the third place.
