UK Slalom Series Explained

The 2010 Season will witness the kick-off of the UK Slalom Series (UKSS) of Freestyle Slalom-Skating. Its system largely follows that of the World Slalom Series (WSS), but on a national
scale.
THE UK SERIES EVENTS
Four competitions are already planned for the UKSS 2010 Season:
- BattleUK: Nottingham (27/28 March ‘10)
- Eastbourne Extreme: Eastbourne (17/18 July '10)
- SkateLondon: London (14/15 August '10)
- Xtreme in the City Exhibition: London (23/24 October '10)
THE UK RANKING
The UKSS will have a double ranking, one on a world scale – as they are part of the WSSA World Ranking, and one (separately) on a national scale – the UK Ranking.
The UKSS will be a separate circuit: the UKSS results will be counted in the WSSA World Ranking, but the UK Series will also have their autonomous UK ranking.
The UKSS UK Ranking will be for UK and foreigners living on the UK territory only.
THE POINTS SYSTEM
The Points System will be based on that of WSS competitions, with all UKSS competitions having the same value unlike the WSS circuit in which the competitions are ranked according to a scale of values.

THE RESULTS:
Only the best 3 results of each competitor will be considered. This implies that, to be the Winner of the UKSS, one needs to participate in at least three UKSS competitions.
During the season, the total of the best 3 results of each skater will be calculated after each competition. If competitors are level on points, the Total (Total of all UKSS competitions) will be
used to decide between them. If they still remain level on points, the results of the final competiton will be used.
THE ORGANISATION
For Battles, the groups will be made according to the WSSA World Ranking. The non-ranked skaters will be drawn to complete the groups.
